After
18 years as a country station, KODL
Radio switched back to the music that it started with, "Adult
Standards",
the best music of the past and present. Way back when, we might have called it "MOR", or Middle-of-the Road, and would have expected music from great artist such as The Tijuana Brass Band, Andy Williams, Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra and the like. Now days, it's all that, and MORE. You'll also find softer bits of rock from Abba, The Beatles, even the Little River Band, David Gates, and the Righteous Brothers. In the days and months following the change, the phone began ringing and hasn't stopped as folks around the community responded to the news of the "new" refreshing music in the Gorge. It was a natural move, instead of sharing music, KODL Radio had a chance to be a positive choice for those who are 40+, to whom the "RadioFreshing" sound might be of interest. After all, no other station in the Gorge is playing this kind of music. The music you don't have to "hide the ears of your young ones from". Our listeners have been reassured that many of KODLs features remain in place. The Coffee Break, Lars Larson, The Trading Post, and KODL Radio Sports, to name a few, remain a part of KODL's line up. Tune in today and you too will find your self singing to the radio along with the music.
